About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Nayla Hariz.

I’m a board-certified psychiatrist who treats adolescents and adults, for conditions such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder and attention deficit disorder.

Originally from Lebanon, I graduated from medical school at the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2011 before moving to the United States for residency. I trained in psychiatry at Rutgers - New Jersey Medical School then in child and adolescent psychiatry at the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate. I then moved to Connecticut where I worked in different treatment settings within hospital systems for 5 years before starting my own private practice in 2023.

Running my own practice has allowed me to connect with patients differently. I provide direct and individualized care, with options for in-person and telehealth visits. Patients can easily schedule and modify their appointments online without having to call an office or leave messages in the hope of a call back. I believe that anyone who needs mental health treatment should have access to evidence-based expert psychiatric care. I prescribe psychotropic medication when necessary and appropriate based on my clinical evaluation. The goal of treatment is always to help you feel and function better. I will support you in achieving that goal by listening to your concerns and adjusting your treatment accordingly.
